Gave an example of a lewis base/acid?

hey guys...

if a chem q on a test asks to:

a) give an example of a lewis base?

b) give an example of a lewis acid?

what do i write??

  2. Or you can look at it another way.  Since the Lewis acid/base theory is broader than either the Arrhenius or Bronsted/Lowry theories, ANY acid that is an acid in the other two theories will be an acid in the Lewis theory.  The same is true for bases.

    Acid = H+

    Base = OH-

    product = H-OH  (H2O)
