Gavin Hamilton retires from International cricket
Former Scotland skipper Gavin Hamilton has announced his retirement from the game. Hamilton’s final appearances in Scotland colours will be against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Leicestershire-c807 in the ongoing Clydesdale Bank 40 tournament on this weekend.
Hamilton, while unveiling his decision to retire in front of the media said that he always had a commitment with himself that he will leave the game at the peak of his career. Hamilton further added that personal pride is the main thing for him and he would never like to go after being a burden on his team.
"Due to work commitments, I simply don't have the time to train and practise and there is only so long you can get away with that. I always promised myself I would stop playing when I still felt I was doing a decent job and personal pride is really the bottom line," said the veteran Scotland batsman while talking to a sports channel.

Hamilton, who played for Scotland for the last 17 years, has been the backbone of Scotland’s batting line-up. After taking over the role of captaincy from Ryan Watson in 2009, Hamilton had been instrumental in guiding the Scottish team from a transitional period. The remarkable cricketer has represented Scotland in four World Cups and has served as a great ambassador for his country around the world.
