Gavin Henson keen to quit Ospreys
The Welsh rugby player, Gavin Henson is going through some serious personal issues these days and consequently, wants to retire from Ospreys rugby league.
In an interview, the twenty eight year old expressed his desire to settle in London along with his two children. The star is still keen to play for Wales and also confident to regain his winning form by playing a few more games but being in London will help
him concentrate on his game in a better way.
These days, Henson is on an unpaid leave from Ospreys and appears ready to play for them only if his legal advisor tells him that he is left with no other choice. The Briton rugby ace seems disturbed after his breakup from this wife, Charlotte Church.
While talking about his retirement from Ospreys, Henson said that he has already informed Ospreys’ management about his intentions but the club isn’t willing to leave him as his contract with them is still not over. He added that his private life is getting
tough and he is not finding a way to create a balance between it and his rugby career. His life is not at all comfortable as he is facing all the criticism but now he is tired of living like this.
It should be remembered that Gareth Thomas and Stephan Jones were also two outstanding players who had left Wales because of their personal problems and also due to the somewhat undue criticism by media and fans. About his future, Henson stated that he wants
to play more for Ospreys in the next season but right now he needs a serious break so that he can spend some time with his children in London.
He further added that he has to deal with all the problems before getting back to rugby. Meanwhile, Ospreys’ director, Scott Johnson told the media that Gavin Henson’s contract with the club isn’t over yet and the management will recommend him not to leave
at this stage.
Rugby is no doubt very close to Gavin Henson as this game has given him all the respect and love he has ever hoped for but his break up with Charlotte has definitely turned his life upside down. We can only wish him good luck as Osprey’s squad will look
a little faded without a veteran star like Henson.
