g*y Americans: Obama / Biden = Obama will NOT be the next president. Your thoughts?

It's now official. Obama has selected Joe Biden for Vice President.

I can't believe he picked Biden. Obama has just destroyed his chances at becoming the next president. McCain will pick a liberal leaning Republican and get all the former Hillary supporters. There’s a lot of Reagan Democrats who will turn to a Republican if they feel they need to and that’s what will happen with most of the Hillary supporters. I can't believe he didn't choose Hillary for VP, it was his only chance at winning.

Hillary was all for GLBT rights and women’s rights. Hillary wasn’t afraid to talk about GLBT rights. Hillary didn’t worry about what Europeans thought of her or what McCain thought of her, she cared about America and wanted to make America better for Americans and now she can’t because of Obama. This is devastating to advancing GLBT rights in the United States. Obama hasn’t even touched the issue of g*y marriage, and that’s because he’s against it. He said once (not on camera) that he supports civil unions and that’s b/s, he would just leave it up to the states and act like the issue doesn’t exist.

At least McCain has spoken about g*y marriage, several times actually, and he’s against a federal amendment banning g*y marriage. We now have a timetable for withdrawing from Iraq and Obama has no experience to improve the economy. Never thought I’d do it, but I’ll be voting for McCain.

  1. actually....if you watched the Ellen show *Yay!*, then you would know that Barack Obama's idea is to first make a national law for civil unions and then allow each denomination of any religion choose if they would like to support g*y marriage within their church.  Obama will win.  He is what this country needs right now.  If Obama would have chosen Hilary his campaign would have gone to c**p because they had been fighting with eachother so harshly and putting down each others ideas and principles that it would have been impossible for them to have worked together and compromise on their ideas.

  2. Like yuck......Wow..I didnt realize he picked Biden until now.   That totally changes my perspective about the race.  May the best man win.  Im not for McCain however.... he chose Biden.....makes me think twice.  Then h**l with McCain......Obama for President..we dont want a mini Bush like back in office.  His wife is horrid looking....I would love to see Michelle as our first african american first lady!!!

  3. Well, I'm not too wild about his VP pick, either.  Hillary would have given him a LANDSLIDE victory.

I disagree that the two would fight consistently.  I believe that they would work together fully so that they can beat the Republicans in the November elections.  They aren't stupid.

I think that Biden offers Obama the experience he needs, but that's it.  Obama needs an edge in order to garner votes.  He doesn't have that edge.  I believe he made a mistake by picking Biden.  If he didn't want to pick Hillary, he should have chosen that other woman he was considering....her name starts with an S??  (sorry I forgot her name)

But I think you should vote Obama anyway.  Do you really want to see McCain win?  He doesn't support putting g*y bashing on the nation's hate-crime list.  He doesn't support g*y rights in the least.  Sure he'll allow for Civil Unions, but those will likely be very limited, unlike Obama's plan.

I'm voting for Obama.  Hopefully he will win.  However, I'm losing faith that he will in light of this new decision of his...  McCain can easily have the edge now...  I hope Obama knows what he is doing...

  4. Yea I really liked Hilary. Obama is too liberal for me and he doesn't have enough experience. I gotta say I would vote for Obama instead of McCain. (I'm underage tho) It's a lesser-of-two-evils situation. I don't like either of the but Obama is a little better. Neither are my first choice.

  5. Five examples of Obama's actions either being unfriendly or against g*y people include:

During a taping of WBBM-AM's "At Issue," Barack Obama was asked his personal views on g*y marriage. He said "I'm a Christian, and so although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman."

Obama had Donnie McClurkin as a part of his campaign. McClurkin has said that it is OK to hate g*y people because God "hates the things that are purposed to destroy the ones He loves and are against His nature and design. He created me to be a whole man and to love one woman. Anything else is perversion of the male purpose" and Obama refused to remove him from his campaign.

Obama refused to have his picture taken with San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom. Newsom had previously said that a Democratic Presidential candidate refused to be pictured with him while refusing to mention which candidate it was. Former S.F. Mayor Willie Brown later confirmed that it was Obama who did not want to be pictured with Newsom because Newsom supports same s*x marriage.

The Rev. James T. Meeks, who Obama has called a "spiritual counsel," is an Obama delegate who served on Obama's exploratory committee for President and helped launch a petition for the Illinois Family Institute to clearly understand "the threat of g*y marriage." The Southern Poverty Law Center named Meeks one of the "10 leading black religious voices in the anti-g*y movement" last year.

Obama's choice of a Vice Presidential candidate, Joe Biden, voted for the Defense of Marriage Act to prohibit marriage between members of the same s*x in federal law, and provide that no state is required to recognize same-s*x marriages performed in other states and to define 'marriage' as 'between one man and one woman.'

Obama's support for LGBT people is as thin as the paper his speeches are written on.

    Edit>

mtfradgal; Obama does not have to say and do a lot of things right now that make him appear middle of the road. Gore lost in 2000 by trying to appear as middle of the road with his choice of Lieberman (who is now not even a Democrat) as VP. Bush won in 2004 by appealing to the Republican base. When you are strong in a political belief (either neo-con or liberal) you get the voter turnout like 2004 and do not need to appeal to the middle road. If you can't get the votes from your primary base of voters, you lose elections.

  6. BUT MCCAIN panders to the jesus freaks like OMG! i cant believe ur voting for him! ur a disgrace! SRSLY!

I'm still voting for Obama (if i remember to vote) cuz like im totally OVR mccain cuz like hes old and pro big business and like he totally hates us g**s and he panders to the weird christian people who want women in da kitchen and g**s to shut up and go back in the closet.

you no obama is against an amendment too, it seems you have no reason to vote for mccain, so Y R u doin it? its cuz obamas black huh!?

    -----

EWWW! Don't h8 sistah! I'm 23 and gunna vote for obama cuz hes better for the g*y man and the brown man. Im tired of this republican oppression.

if ur not white, christian, and/or a business owner, the republican party does not give a **** about u!

  7. I know. Makes me sad.

It'll be my first time being able to vote and i can't even do it because I'm so against both of them that i can't make up my mind.

  8. I have been a life long democrat. I like biden but obama is an arrogant ***.  I will not vote for him. If he had taken clinton i would vote for him.

I just dont like him and it is not because he is black.  I get a kick out of some of the black people i know who are conservatives that vote for him.

I dont think i will be voting this election.

  9. I've seen Obama mention the issue of g*y marriage on t.v. Sounds like you're just an Obama hater. Yes, I would've liked to have seen an Obama/Clinton ticket, but Obama doesn't owe her anything. She lost the race. Hillary isn't for g*y marriage either. She supports civil unions just like Obama and McCain.

  10. McCain is becoming president?

    Oh no, we're screwed!

  11. I'm not voting and I really haven't been paying very much attn to anything, but what I can tell you is that Obama is going to win. Point blank. No matter what anyone does or doesn't want. Just get over people :) Live your lives.

  12. ANYBODY is better than McSame/McBush/the old white dude!

Christopher: Obama has to say and do a lot of things right now that make him appear middle of the road.  After he gets into office I expect him to be more liberal than the image hee's presenting right now.  It's called politics folks.
