AANCHAL is the first helpline solely for L*****n and bisexual women in Mumbai, India. The phone number is [phone]. It has basically arisen because of the complete invisibility that lesbians and bisexual women have had and continue having in the city. Women who are isolated and fearful of others discovering their sexuality now have a safe place to interact with like-minded women. Aanchal means the sheltering folds of a womyn's saree. The phone is attended by a counselor on Saturdays between 3pm and 7pm. Confidentiality is assured.
