Arsenals’ chief executive, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivan-c17215 Gazidis has gone on to insist that the North London club are still looking to be on par with some of the top European clubs, and feels that the team will contest to be the best in just a couple of years.
Gazidis’ comments have come after the club’s fans went on to claim that the board at the Emirates just didn’t care for the club, and were more interested in making profits.
At the moment, Arsenal have made their worst start to a Premier League season, and having not won any trophies since 2005, things aren’t looking a whole lot bright for the team.
However, Gazidis seems to have this odd sense of certainty about the club, and the chief executive is reported to have said: "As we look to the next two, three years we will have an outstanding platform on which to compete with any club in the world."
He then went on to claim that the club’s vision and plans were finally looking to see themselves get completed and once that happens, the team will take a massive step forward to becoming one of the best clubs out there.
"At times it's been a challenging project, but we will have catapulted ourselves into the elite clubs on the European scale and that, for us, has been what the last 10 years has been about.”
"Very clearly, it will push the club forward and put us into the top five clubs in the world in revenue terms, which will be a fantastic position to be in."
He then went on to highlight the financial fair play rule that is set to be incorporated in the near future. Gazidis feels that once that happens, Arsenal will be placed in an ideal situation in regards to transfer fees and player salaries, which will give
them the edge over their rivals.
"As our financial capability develops, as economic rationality enters the world of football, our ability to compete at salary levels for the very best talent will be enhanced," he continued.
The fact that Gazidis thinks that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 aren’t already regarded as one of the best teams in Europe goes to show just what his mentality has been in regards to the whole affair. At the same time, it is going to be interesting to see just how the club’s
fans react to his comments.
