dont know how to work out percentages can someone help me with this question plzzz

1. a coat coasts $140. in a sale it is reduced to $85. what is the pecentage reduction?

(sorri pound sign doesnt work..lol)

  2. like the percentage increase one

    percentage decrease = ( amount decreased/initial value ) *100

  3. £140-£85 = £55

    £55/£140 = ???

    ??? x 100 = percentage reduction.

  4. 140-85/140 = 39.2%
