Okay well i get my gcse results tomorrow but i am really worried about them , i feel like ive not done very good. To do the courses i want to do I have to get at least a C but what do i do if i don't get these grades? Could i do a resit before the college term starts because i don't want to miss my course as its vital for the job i want.

  1. This would be extremely hard to find an exam slot in time for the new term, as exam boards have specific dates. It would be possible to apply for a resit and get onto the course next year, i get my results tomorrow so GOOD LUCK!!

  2. Most sixth forms/colleges are quite willing to make exceptions, if say for instance, you get 3 A - C's but you need 5 and the rest are D's, they wouldnt just turn you away they'd invite you in for a chat and more often than not let you in anyway, i only had three a's to c's, its more important to prove that you are very interested in the course and could cope on advanced course rather than having the formal requirment, or if you need a higher grade in something, maths is a common one, people often get a D and redo it to get a C, you can study a gcse while you do your a levels, well thats how it worked with my sixth form, i dont know if that's how it works with others

  3. im just as bervous.

we all just need to PRAY,

  4. From my experience when I did my GCSEs I tihnk they allowed people to take up their A Level courses and then when the resits came around they'd make a decision then.  Of course I went from a school into a 6th form in the same place so it would have been easier.  Even if you don't do as well, there are ALWAYS other colleges with similar or the same courses who will more than likely accept you.  Colleges nowadays are falling over themselves to get people.

Also, try to relax!  Everyone thinks they've done worse than they actually have :)

  5. hey babe, basically wen i finished yr 11 i didnt have the grades i want so i went to a vocational 6th form did a few gcse's again now im in my first yr of uni gonna study medicine...dont worry IF you do bad u got a back up and your school will be great :)
