Gear for the world of warcraft expansion?

i am a 70 prot pally that is at kara level. i am wondering should i try and get best gear i can now or wait till new expansion in a couple months?

If you have time and you're doing heroic instances/raids regularly, you might as well get the badge loot. Blizzard is attempting to not repeat that giant gap in gear from Pre BC -> Post BC. They've said repeatedly they're hoping that raiding gear will last players a good bit of time before having to be replaced in WotLK. I personally wouldn't spend money to get better gear though.

Plus, with Blizzards reputation for releasing games when they feel they are ready and the current state of the beta, there is no guarantee the expansion will even be out in a couple of months.

wait till the expansion. the only way you won't immediately replace your gear is if you are in T6.
