Gear oil capacity in ounces for 1999 mercury 25 hp 2-cylinder 2-stroke?

I changed my gear oil and it didn't take as much as I expected. I know to fill from the bottom up till it runs out the top hole, but maybe I have an air bubble in it? It only took 10 ounces.

My 97 - 90 hp doesn't take a lot more than that - maybe around 16 oz

That sounds about right.  If you filled from the bottom until it ran out of the top hole marked "vent" then there is no way you have an air bubble.

It's not a very big gearbox.

You can't put a quart in a pint pot!
