Epic Games may be working on a new game for PCs only and Rockstar are set to treat iPad and iPhone users with a Max Payne title.
Two bits of great news for gamers as Rockstar and Epic Games have everyone’s mouths watering at the prospect of two new games on different platforms.
Starting things off with Epic Games, the developers of the popular third-person shooter series, Gears of War, as the studio has announced that they “might” have a PC exclusive title in the works.
Two hints were dropped at Epic’s PAX East panel, with Cliff Bleszinski, who shot to fame following the Gears of War series, and Mike Capps, the studio’s president, both teasing the crowd.
Capps kicked things off by stating that the studio “might be working on a PC-only title”, before Cliff decided to add some weight to the statement by adding, “Let me say that again: we are working on a PC game.”
The title will mark a return to the PC platform for Epic who is also responsible for developing the Unreal engine. The engine itself powers a number of games, all of which used Unreal.
In other news, it seems Rockstar are looking to diversify their Max Payne series as Max Payne Mobile is scheduled for release on every conceivable iOS powered device on the planet.
The game is set to launch on the, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4, iPad 1, iPad 2 and the upcoming iPad as well.
For those who are worried about getting a badly ported version of the classic series can rest assured that Rockstar are working to make sure that their experience is an enjoyable one. At least, that is if one is to take Rockstar’s word for it.
According to the studio the latest offering will bring the “full classic Max Payne PC experience...optimized for both iOS and Android devices and features HD graphics, high-resolution textures, Social Club connectivity and user-customizable controls.”
It all sounds rather good and with an Android version also planned it seems Max Payne is truly coming to the smart-phone market with a significant level of polish.
