Gears of war (pc) save files?

i'm going to reinstall windows, so need to backup gears of war save files. where should i find these files / what is the name of the file?

  1. by default the game saves and check points are saved in the game directory in some folder (sorry i forgot the folders name) but it is definitely in the game folder
