  1. Research is the key to happy and successful gecko owning!   (And happy birthday, btw.)

Though this site if for Leopard geckos; I'm going to list it below, simply for the section on gut loading crickets.  Take a minute to peek it out.

And then get busy, and google your Crested gecko, to be sure you set up the tank in a fashion to suits its age/needs.

Diet is very important, so do your homework before you get your new pet.

Also, as with any new addition to the family, I strongly recommend that you take your new pet to a qualified reptile vet, to be sure you're starting out with a happy and healthy animal.  Reptiles are slow to show signs of illness, and are usually pretty sick by the time they do.  So, know your pet and its habits.

Congratulations, happy bithday again, and ENJOY!

  2. you could fee it baby food with crickets or  waxworm or you can also buy crssted gecko diet ( that is a powder that you mix with water ) its a complete gecko diet will all the nutriments the crestie need.

here are some good websites about crested gecko:

    http://www.pangeareptile.com/id52.htm

    http://www.thegeckospot.com/crestedcarei...

good luck with your new crestie!

  3. make sure you buy the crested gecko diet its a powder you mix with water, it should be his main food source you can also offer him/her crickets but mealworms arent reccomended you can also feed him/her babyfood but mix it with calcioum powderi would feed him crested gecko diet every day a week and dusted crickets (crickets covered in calcioum powder) 2-3 times.  make sure you dont touch him for 3-4 days after you get him, then try handling him a little bit each week then a little bit more and keep handling him/her til youre handling him/her every day, they can be tamed very easily all you need to do is handle them a lot.

I assume you know about the cage but if not you need an aboreal cage (a tall one)  you need lots of live or fake plants a hiding spot and a water dish (they swim in it not drink it) you need to mist them about 2 times a day and they l**k water off of items in their cage or the sides of their cage a good substrate (beding)a kind of dirt mixturei forget what its called or you can use reptile carpet. dont use sand because it can cause impaction.

the cage tempature shouldnt exceed 80 degrees farhenheit.

Hope I helped have fun with your new crested gecko
