  1. Leopard or day gecko, stay away from the Tokay gecko, they can bite hard and aren't very friendly.

  2. Leopard geckos are very calm and easy to hold.  They are extremely easy to care for.

If your "little sister" is real young, I wouldn't let her touch reptiles - there's too much risk for salmonella poisoning.

There are plenty of gecko (of any type) care sheets on the 'net.

  3. most leopard geckos are very calm, but they are nocturnal, so they are mostly awake during the night.

  4. Leopard Gecko! I had one and it was very calm and sweet.

  5. i am biased towards the cresties, as i breed them.

but if you are planning to let your sister hold your gecko (whatever kind you do end up getting) a leo would probably be best.

though as mentioned above, you need to make sure she washed her hands after EVERYTIME she handles your gecko for risk of samonella poisoning.

but i still have to say that crested geckos are amazing to watch! they have fun personalities and are very easy to care for. they don't need any special lighting, and their heating is basically room temperature, (maybe an extra low watt heat bulb for the winter months) and you mist twice a day for humidity.

:D good luck on your search!
