  1. A library lets you take home materials for FREE! All you need is a card! There are other programs but with out knowing your learning style it can be hard to reccommend one. Our program cost about 100.00 to start andit works well for our family but may not be best for you. We use Math U See. www.mathusee.com

  2. It can be as cheap or expensive as you like. If you live near a good library, it is practically free.

  3. To answer your question about the good library, library memberships are free and they usually have an endless source of information for just about any subject.

Considering the sources online for worksheets and my knowledge of math, teaching math to my 3 boys has really only cost me ink and paper and pencils.

It also depends on what level you are teaching. You can get workbooks at Walmart or an office supply store for not very expensive. Another good source is a teacher supply store.

The comment that it costs as much as you want it to is pretty much right on. We paid for curriculum from an online school for several years, but I'm more comfortable with finding my own now, that we're not spending as much money.

    Good Luck!

  4. It really depends on what you buy.  You can check out free books from the library for math, but you may not be able to keep them as long as you need to use them.

This site lists a few places you can look for used curricula:

You may also want to look at http://www.homeschoolclassifieds.com

    Good luck!

  5. For just math, I assume you're supplementing your public/private school education?  If so, then most math programs will cost between $100-200 new.  You can get them cheaper if you purchase textbooks used.

HS'ing costs as much as you make it.  You can HS for nearly free, or you can spend a lot like we do ($3+K for one child).
