Geelong vs North Melbourne, 2008 AFL Grand Final ??????

Question

Geelong are almost curtain to make the Grand Final with no team being able to stop them in the past 11 weeks, but who will fight for there premiership this season, my guess is North Melbourne. At the moment NM have been playing the best brand of footy behind Geelong. Hawthorn, Western Bulldogs and Sydney have all lost there run going into the finals, especially Bulldogs since they lost heavily to the cats. Hawthorn lost to Richmond and don't look up to it anymore, if Buddy isn't on fire, Hawks go down. NM are a side who are so dangerous when there the underdogs and against Geelong they stand a very good chance to win, they will vs them this week and we will see what will happen, i think the cats will win by 4 points but you never know with NM, they can look like there unstoppable at times.

What are your thought's on this?????

Every team apart from the Cats has had very average games during the season. North were 10th on the ladder a few weeks ago! There's no way to tell, because finals footy is completely different to the home and away season. Jeez, people thought teams like Collingwood and St Kilda were going to be serious contenders, and now they have a form slump. The Roos are still a chance of losing form, they have shown that they can be inconsistent. Good luck to them, but I still think either the Hawks or Dogs will be in the Granny with the Cats.

Geelong are unstoppable force YET to be reckoned with, they will win the premiership this and next year. The team that will try to put up a fight to them will be Either North Melbourne or Adelaide, hawthorn depend too much on Buddy Franklin....on the weekend they were kicking to him when he was on about three or four richmond players, if the hawks kicked the ball to different forwards most of the time they would probably win they just depend to much on buddy. And the dog's have lost their last 3 or so games, lost some form.

kangaroos are the biggest load of c**p and dont deserve to be where they are so many teams deserve to be where they are.

they do the same thing every year play a couple of good games at the end of the season and get pumped in the finals. they are pathetic they need to get some real players. brent harvey is a fake and doesnt deserve a brownlow medal, he isnt a good player and isnt worth fighting over for the bownlow.

the roos are on a roll, they have a good solid team without shrieking egos, they work well together, the only prob I can think of apart from Geelong the Unstoppable is Geelong the Tall - they are(adjective)HUGE as well as fast.

on current form, Buddy's buddies wouldn't give Geelong any trouble, and the Doggies seem to have gone to the dogs last few weeks. Essendon is flat, exhausted and down to 24 on the list, if the Dogs can't beat them by 100 points they are not headed for the Grand Final.

yeah, Catz v Roos looks like a good GF, and who's betting they put the umpires in white just so they will stand out from the players LOL.

man u can't predict the finals just because of the recent forms off the teams, it could  have been geelong and hawthorn, at the beggining and than geelong and bulldogs mid-way, and now NM, but my guess is that, north melbourne are just having a good spell just like freo, but when it comes down to bussiness NM won't have the engine and the fuel to finish off the likes of sydney and hawthorn, harvey might do well, but u can't beat a team with one man, but full credit to them for making the finals exciting.

What r u on about "GOPIES" you can really talk you got beaten by North twice this year all you r is jealous. How can u say they dont deserve to be there. Theyv just been playing really poorly away from home this year thats wen theyv lost a lot of their games. theyv beat hawthorn bulldogs  2 times collingwood 2 times came close to geelong but whenever theyv played away this year theyv played pretty bad. Theyv won the past six obviously u just cant give credit where its due. Having said that dont think theyll make th grand final mayb another prelim

North will not make the Grand Final. It will be a Geelong vs. Hawthorn Grand Final and Geelong will win. North cannot compete with a side with the caliber of Geelong and I can;t see them going far in the finals series, but with Brent Harvey in their team - anything can happen.

As much as I would like beloved St Kilda to be a contender, I doubt they will be playing Geelong in the grand final. As well as the Hawks are doing, they are starting to struggle and the loss to St Kilda and Richmond is going to take it's toll. My bet is for one of the following:

Geelong vs Western Bulldogs

Geelong vs Sydney

Geelong vs Nth Melbourne.

But who knows? That's what I love about AFL, you can never predict. I made a rough estimate for the final top 8, and it seems that my top four are:

1- Geelong

2- Western Bulldogs

3- Hawks

4- Sydney.

But I didn't predict the Bulldogs' upcoming struggle, or the Hawks losing to Richmond. ;]
