Question:

Gel Nails - Is there something better?

I get gel nails regularly with the french manicure. I have to get this because my natural nails are, for some reason, too oily and I can't keep nail polish on it for long. Is there something better than gel nails now?

  1. Wow, you are getting taken for a ride, LOL!

For one thing, with UV gel nails, the white is a white gel and is NOT painted on. Second thing is that gel nails are non-porous and therefore habe a tendency to not absorb liquids readily. Since they are glossy, and non-porous, nail polish will not adhere to them very well. But listen, ig you have to 'paint' on the white with UV gel nails, you obviously do NOT have real UV gel nails, and are getting ripped off big time by the cheap chop shop you are going to...BTW, the white is NOT airbrushed on either. It IS a white gel. Period...

  2. I heard that fiberglass nails are good.

I stand by uv liquid gel nails!  I love them they feel great and look fabulous.. not lumpy but smooth, thin and shiny like natural nails.  Don't think there are any better.  Solar nails are just acrylic and still don't look half as nice as gels.

My natural nails are also very oily so the acrylics would lift within days while the gels stay on there till I want not need a fill.  Nail polish never stayed on either.

I love my gel nails.  They are UV btw and I DO have the white airbrushed on under the last two layers of gel.  This look great and also  saves me time because my nails grow so fast I would need a pink and white gel fill or rebalance instead of a simple fill..every month.  I hate to see the tips of my natural nails under the white.

Once they put the base gel, then builder gel and buff that down (each set under a uv light no powder just liquid gel for each layer) The tech can airbrush the white on before finishing up.

I think they look better than the white gel believe me I have had both.  Also I paint nail polish over the gel all the time and it never chips or peels off.  When you get duped into getting gel powder which is acrylic with a uv top coat added.. the polish will chip and peel off very easily.

    Good Luck
