Gelatin used in capsules?

Hello,

I wanted to ask that these supplements made in USA, the capsules made are from gelatin....so is this gelatin from pork of beef ? I am a muslim so I have to avoid anything which is of pig ...

  1. Most gelatin in U.S is made from skin of pig.

    Do not take.


  2. It's made from the bones of slaughtered animals - all mixed. You can't tell.

  3. most likely bovine but you can never tell unless its specifically labelled.

  4. For already encapsulated medicine, you are stuck with whatever the manufacturer used. Some are geleatin, some are a synthetic cellulose compound (non-animal).

    For home gelatin use: Kolatin® Kosher gelatin  (made from beef only)

    And some places sell empty non-animal "gelatin" capsules that I think are made from seaweed.  If you wanted to be truly obsessive-compulsive you could empty your supplements into fresh vegan capsules.
