Gemma, Gianna or Angelina???

Question

The middle name is Marie (after Our Lady). We are Italian. What is your preference and why?!

I like Gianna Marie.

Gemma Marie is too many "mmmm" sounds together and is hard for me to say.

Angelina Marie sounds too much like Angelina Jolie and she just isn't one of my favorite people despite all her humanitarian work...I just don't like her...something isn't right about her. I think she is a fake person but I have no evidence to point to that statement...it is just a feeling.

I like the name Angelina the best, it has a very nice ring to it, it kind of just slides smoothly out of your mouth... not to be weird. Congrats on your baby!

Angelina Marie. Thats the most cutest name ever for a italian family! It also has a nice ring to it. Hope this helps. =D

Gianna. Gemma sounds too babyish or old ladyish, Angelina makes me think too much of the actress.

Gianna is beautiful. Gemma is second place because it can sound like Jenna which is way too common! Both of those names were on my list when I had my daughter Naomi. Angelina Jolie blaah blaah blaah, I am tired of that name because of her, although it's awesome, but I also had on my list of baby names for my daughter the name Angelica. I almost named her Angelica, Claudia, and Gianna.

Gianna just sounds like an Italian Princess :)

Gemma. My mums name is Angelina and it just gets shortened to 'angie' so people just assume her real name is 'angela' so its a waste of such a beautiful name.

You can't really go wrong, they are all very, very pretty. I prefer Gemma- it is unusual but not "weird". Gianna sounds a little harsh to me, and Angelina seems a little stereotypical for an Italian name- though it would be fun to have all of the Angelina Ballerina books and dolls for your daughter!

Angelina strikes me as a bit dated.  Gianna has some appeal, but it just can't compete with Gemma.

Gemma is simple but distinctive, and wears well on a child or an adult.  I'd use it without hesitation!
