Gemstone Jack, the one to look out in Heat 4 at Nottingham
Competing over 500 metres flat in the Heat 4 on Friday, 28th September at Nottingham are Romeo You Decide, Tricky Like That, Gemstone Jack, Teena Marina, Story Time and Westmead Atlas. The prize money set for the race is £100.
Struggling for maintaining momentum through the last few outings is the two-year-old black dog, Gemstone Jack. At Nottingham and over 500 metres have been the last three outings, two of which were Grade T races.
Even after two training sessions, the K. Hutton trained ended third in the Ottingham Produce Stakes – Heat 6 on 24th September, 2012 at Nottingham over 500 metres.
Taking flight from the fifth trap, Gemstone Jack, did not break into an early pace neither bothered with an initial lead. On top of the slow start came the issue of getting crowded that shoved him into the third corner.
Johnny Kwango won the race in 30.14 seconds, and defeated Story Time by good 6 ¼ lengths.
Crash’s black son has drawn the third box, and has never been able to strike a race from that number ever since he started racing just this season.
Four entries have ended second in their last try at the open level.
The 2 to 1 entry, Teena Marina, took away the runner-up’s honour in the Nottingham Produce Stakes – Heat 7 on 24th September, 2012 at Nottingham over 500 metres. Getting crowded cost the favourite entry the race that she missed by the mark of
half-length.
The first trap led in for the wire, and took 30.88 seconds for settling the race.
Ballymac Maeve’s blue, brindle and white daughter, Story Time, took the next to best position in the sixth heat of the Ottingham Produce Stakes on 24th September, 2012 at Nottingham over 500 metres.
She became a victim of the roaring speed of the winner, Johnny Kwango, who completed the trip in 30.14 seconds.
The contestants have been through the identical level of challenges before, and are up for giving it a try once again. Picking up pace in time, and keeping a stern check on the level of competition will aid all the contestants for ensuring a smooth trip.
