Gender discrimination?!?

if i go and inquire for a job and the manager (who is female) tells me that they are looking for people but are only looking to hire girls because they have enough guy help ! Is this gender discrimination and could it be a law suit?

  1. doubt it really look at it this way I am hiring at hooters i already have male bus boys and male dishwashers and male cooks what i really need is a woman to work for me because that is why it is called hooters

  3. It depends on the job.  If they are looking to hire say, 20 women and 20 men, and have the men all hired, then there's no discrimination there.

  4. It's only discrimination if there is no justifiable reason to limit the hiring to women.

    For instance, if they need women for a clothing store in the women's lingerie section, it's perfectly reasonable to refuse to hire guys.  Or a gym might need female trainers but not male right now.  Etc etc.


  5. I think the EEOC will only consider it discrimination if it is an across the board policy not to hire ANY males.
