Genealogy question. please help.?

im trying to find out information about my family in the past. like in the 1800s, 1700s, etc. how can i look up this information in the library. is there a library that specializes genealogical information in new york city?

  2. The New York Genealogical & Biographical Society has a library. You'd have to become a member. If you live in NYC and are interested in genealogy, it looks like it would be well worth your time and dues. The NYG&BS is famous nation-wide.
