I have found the geneolgy of Cassel and Cassell but not an exact matach, I just wanted to know the country of orgin,

You have to remember that slight changes happen in the coarse of History, Just think back, how many times do people miss spell your surname,   Going back in the not too distant past local accents were stronger and the only people who could read were the Very wealthy and the clergy,  I have several surname spellings for direct ancestors, sounds to me like you are on the right track.

The spelling of any name is very often different from the original, and has little to do with actual relationships.  Finding an "exact match" is not what you need to be concerned with.

In addition.. MANY names have different places that it comes from. You can only rely on the actual origins of a PERSON.  Surnames don't have genealogies.. only people.  If you locate such a site.. especially when it always claims "noble family since day 1" and has family crests for sale.. back out the door quietly.

well in a californian sensus Cassil is mentioned in 1930 so it was most likly changed in imigration from areas like velencia, southern france. but it depends on how much they changed the name to fit in with the national identity. the name goes back to the 1800s.
