what jobs are available to someone with a BA degree in general earth sciences?

  1. A BA in earth science limits you to a career in teaching, most people however that I went to college with are working outside their major.


  2. He is correct. A BS degree is the only way to go. Also pick a specific subject such as geology, or geophysics.

    Better yet look into geological engineering. Engineers can always find jobs. I should know since I have been an engineer for 40 years.

    Oceanography is interesting but it is a very small field and you need a  PhD
