General information about the French Open?

Question

I'm doing a three-page project for my French II class and, even though I play on j.v. tennis, I'm totally clueless about the French Open in Paris. I have the history off Wikipedia (feel free to add to my info), but I can't find eligibility or what, where, and when the tournaments are played or what the prize is or why it's such a popular sport. Also a comparison of the popularity of tennis in American in relation to France?

that's where u get all the info abt French Open including the past champs...well abt the comparison of popularity of Tennis in US and France...u need to do an exhausting study on it..
