Question:

General or laughing gas?

I am a 13 year old girl having 7 baby teeth removed tomorrow and I was given the choice of general anesthesia or laughing gas. At first I was really sure I wanted general, but then everyone I talked to said I should get laughing gas because it had a quicker recovery time. Now I am confused and I have to decide...like now because if I'm getting general I can't eat before hand. Any advice?

  1. If you get nitrous oxide "laughing gas", you'll still get Novacaine or something similar before the teeth get extracted.

Nitrous has a lower chance of bad reactions.  I'd go with it.

  2. Laughing gas should be fine, i had that for my wisdom teeth and it was perfectly fine.

  3. gas

  4. laughing gas! trust me you will want the laughing gas! I've had 4 teeth filled and i didn't feel a thing. Also if you don't get the laughing gas you're more likely to feel the numbing needle in your mouth.

  5. prob. general. i wouldnt want to know anything while they were pullin my teeth lol

  6. I've never had general anesthesia, but I did have to use laughing gas when I got surgery on my broken wrist. It's a pretty weird experience but it's absolutely harmless and before you know it, you're completely out cold!

  7. I always prefer general, mainly because you wont feel a thing.  And not eating before hand isn't a big deal.  I once had an operation at 2pm, which meant I couldn't eat all day and I felt fine.

  8. Seven?!

    Laughing gas.

    It's fun! :p

  9. I'm getting general on the 28th. I think it's better than laughing gas because you don't feel anything.

  10. laughing gas

i had baby teeth removed and with laughing gas its painless and its like sleeping

  11. after gas
