i was given a power of attorney and executed that power and transferred property into my wife's name, as the property was originally mine that i built, but the land was not in my name, my father remarried and transferred the land into his second wife's name whom i confronted and asked her either for the money that i spent or her to give me that land back,as i had also paid the money to my father before he had married her for that land long before , she admits to this and wanted to pay me off for the properties that i built and said if she cannot pay me she would write me general power of attorney to say that i could sell gift the land or do what i like with it , she then wanted paying for the land which i payed her for and transfer-ed the property onto my wife's name as a sale as i payed her for the land and now she is filing a suit for cancellation of sale deed and injunction against me saying that she could not understand proper english and did not understand what she was signing and that i added something into the power of attorney that i haven't this poa was made up by an independent solicitor and then was attested by a commissioner of oath and then by a official of an embassy of the country that it was going to that was explained to her at that embassy in her native tonguee as to what she was giving and if she was happy with it or not before they attested it , she then didn't want the money over here she wanted it in the country that the land was being sold and travelled before me to that country and gave me that power of attorney in that country after 1 week ,after getting paid £30,000 and wanted the money in cash in the local currency, in cash didn't want paying in cheque and didn't want to sign anything saying that she had been paid as she didn't want anyone finding out that she is being paid for this land as she is currently on social security that was the reason she gave me at that time before she gave me the power of attorney to which i agreed , she had ample time to get the power of attorney read or tear it up or write me another one up but was obviously trying to cheat me, as she also made another power of attorney for her brother whilst she was abroad and told him to sell the property to someone else before i could transfer it onto my name, he could not find a buyer and i had transfer-ed it into my wife's name and then two months down the line she is now trying to say she did not know what was written in the power of attorney and that i had altered the power of attorney in places and that she has not been payed , which i haven't altered , the power of attorney was registered at vice consulate of the country that it was going to be used in ,by her and then attested by them after them explaining to her what powers she was giving me , then attested at the foreign office of that country and then the sub registrar of that country who also attested it, before it was accepted as being a legal document and she was there the whole time as the process takes about three weeks to process and she could have cancelled it at any time as she was in that country at the time now two months down the line she is contesting it saying that she cannot speak any english and that i have altered the poa and that i have done her wrong ,so what i want to know is that has she got a leg to stand on with her suit against me and if so what can i do to protect my property and land ,ps i forgot to mention that i have a video of her saying that she will write me a power of attorney if she cannot pay me for the properties that i had built and that she knows they belong to me and also that my father had told her on numours occasions that these were my properties and land and that if she cannot pay me for the buildings and land she will write out a power of attorney out for me, as she got the land gifted to herself by my father , at the value of £2000, when the true value isapproximately £3,00000 and my father told her that these properties belong to me and she admits to this in the video and is saying that she will write me a power of attorney if she cannot pay the current value of the properties, as i had built these about 18 years ago at about £60,000 and she is admitting that she knows this and everything i say is true

  1. from your version, you seem to have a strong case! the land and property, under litigation, will not need any special protection as such; but put up a board to say that the property is under dispute, for additional safety, sothat possession does not shift now, and bring some disadvantage to your case! anyway, the case needs to be processed by a qualified lawyer, so best to take proper advice and proceed under due process of law! good luck!

  2. Wow..whew! One really really long sentence! Goodness, and you repeated  yourself several times! I think I need a nap now.

Bottom line you need legal representation, and you won't find  it in Yahoo Answers.
