I have been suffering from eye issues since September with no relief. It started out as two swollen blood vessels in my left eye th, would get swollen and feel like I have a big fuzzy ball in my eye for a couple of days. Over time my eye has become painful in general. Also, I began to get headaches regularly. In the last month or so floaters rarely go away and now I have tons of lines, figure 8's floating by. I saw a doctor for the first time in Sept. and because I can only go to Har. UCLA, the wait was almost a year to see an opth., I broke down and saw a Dr. two days ago and was diagnosed with PVD.She feels that the blood vessels are caused from an allergy in the eyes and dry eyes causing irritation and swelling. She prescribed Lotemax 15ml. I have an appt. to see the specialist on Friday. Should I wait to take the drops until then, just in case it is something else causing the pain? Iv'e had a headache for almost a week with nausea, sensitivity to light, diff.focusing and pain in gen

  1. NO....take the lotemax immediately.  It sounds as if you have an inflammation and the lotemax may help.  In all likelihood you need a stronger form of steroid than the lotemax.  The pvd  has nothing to do with the eye pain.  They are painless, but if you have an iritis or uveitis of chronic standing, you need the steroids yesterday.

Another possibility is if you are having glaucoma problems.  If your pressure is too high, you will feel nauseous and have hazy vision.  Was your pressure ok?  In these cases, steroids are not recommended, but Lotemax has a higher safety profile and shouldn't hurt the way an older generation might.

    Good luck.
