General surgeon schooling?

Ok im intrested in being a "general surgeon"

Im 17 and im trying to figure out collage before senior year... I did research.

I know about the medical school for 4 years. But what about in collage? what would I have to major in? ANy one help, especially if your a med school student. And i already know about the 5 year residency...

But I just dont know what to major in for collage and what degree i need before heading to medical school...

Any good info? Links to websites are extreamly helpfull also. Thanx. =]

A biology (or related) or a biochemistry degree would be the best for medical school.
