Generally, what is high school like socially?

I know it depends on the high school and the people in it. Are there a lot of cliques, and if there are, name some, are most people nice, and is it fairly similar to middle school? Any additional information would be appreciated.

Generally the potheads/druggies run the school, they have nothing to loose so they don't care if they get suspeneded for fighting, because the ZERO tolorance rules, even if you get hit you still get suspended, even if you didnt fight back, thats why the potheads/druggies run the school because no normal person would aurgue with one because they might get hit, so they just comply with the druggie and do what he says.

other than that, about 3 girls a year get pregnant, 10 kids get expelled for drugs, fights, and s**t girls....and girl fights!

Look up the movie starring Lindsy Lohan titled "Mean Girls".  It's a funny look at high school but pretty real if you can see past the exaggerations.

There can be cliques, plenty of mean people, and plenty of nice people. It's like middle school, only perhaps a little more emotionally intense just because of the changes people go through in high school.

Here's something to remember -- approach high school with no fear. Don't be afraid to ask out the people you like. Don't be afraid to tell people what sort of things you are in to (books, movies, music). Be yourself. It may not ever make you popular but when you look back you'll be glad you were true to yourself.

Also remember that, whether it seems like it or not, all of your classmates are just as scared, frustrated, and confused as you are.

Stay true to yourself, don't get worried about stuff that doesn't matter, and you'll make some true friends for life.

It's not like middle school.

People change and try way too hard to fit in which causes cliques.

I love high school, but it is a TON of drama if you're not careful.
