As a keen cyclist, I enjoy long, strenuous bikerides, but also am interested in saving money on electricity. Is there technology to convert the kinetic energy from my bike into electricity that can be stored and then used in small home appliances?

Kind of an extreme version of the traditional Dynamo for the bike light really...

Thank you to all whom take this seriously :)

  1. The only way to store electricity from a generator is in batteries. If you rigged up some sort of trailer to drag behind your bike with a battery bank of course you could.PS dont forget to upgrade your brakes.Good luck.

  2. That first answer was good. My hubby's great uncle rigged up a bike in his livingroom that would run a generator and run his television set. He would pedal the bike and watch tv at the same time. He loved saving money! So, yep, it can be done!
