According to Wikipedia, the first half of Generation Y was born between 1980-83 and 1994, and the second half between 1995-2001, so yes, you are a part of Generation Y.

no offense, but i think each generation is dumbed down by technology and the media, so each generation is worst than the previous. in short, your generation is the lazy/dumb generation, sorry to break it to you (but keep in mind, this does not mean ALL of you are dumb)

Unfortunately, I believe everyone else here is correct in saying we are lazy.  We also have very little passion in general and are, as a whole, I believe more depressed than any young generation has been.  

But we were raised by our parents, in a society where life centers around consumerism and entertainment.

read the book "Generation Me" by Jean Twenge. I am too apart of Generation Y. Many say were lazy, self-entitled and confident unfortunately the nay-sayers of this generation tend to be the cause themselves. We were raised to be the way we were. The book sums it up pretty well.
