Genes really change the future?

I love all the kids in my family the same dark or light I love them the same... but the kids in my family are getting lighter and the parents are dark.... ok here we go... my mother is a dark pretty african american women.... my father is the lightest african american man with red hair on the earth (he looks mixed... but he is not) they conceive my older sister and I... when my sister was born she was light caramel colored with red course hair later on in life she was darker carmel... when I was born I was light with curly black hair (I still have curly hair) but I am now a lil darker.. my sister conceived her son by her husband who was dark skin and my nephew came out really light with red hair and his eyes changed colors... my sister has a baby daughter who looks exactly like me... (no joke...her hair isnt as curly though) Im in a relationship with an african(really dark)If I do have children do you think my children will be as light as my nephew or father or look like my sister?

I think it depends a bit, but your chances are pretty balanced either way.  This is what happens with genetics changing to allow survival.  Dark skin is necessary when living in equatorial areas and those with lots and lots of sunlight, minimal shelter, and where the land is always close to the sun.  It protects the body from problems associated with the bod absorbing too much sun and only allow for the body to absorb what it needs, not more.  As darker skinned people move away from those areas to more Northern areas that dark skin starts to cause problems.  Sun exposure is less and it is difficult to absorb sufficient vitamin D.  Evolution and survival of the fittest knows that those dark skinned genes need to be toned down to allow for the best overall health.

    What are the chances of you having a dark or lighter skinned baby?  I have no idea, but know that it can go either way.
