Question:

Geneva Airport?

So I'm flying into Geneva on 29th May and have booked a hirecar with "Auto Europe".

I have read about there being a "Swiss sector" and a "French sector" to the airport and so I am wondering if there is anything special I need to be aware of.

I will be driving south through Switzerland THEN into France.

  1. no, there isnt any "french sector", don't worry. Besides, geneva airport is one of the easiest airports to get around in I've ever been to.

the only thing you need to now is that because switzerland isnt yet in the schengen zone, you need to have your passport to drive into france.

  2. There is a French "secteur" in Geneva airport. But it's not easy to find so you won't accidentally walk into the French section. Don't worry. Geneva airport is very small and very easy to get around.

  3. You need to know whether your car is in the French sector or the Swiss sector. If you go out through the wrong one, you may have to take a taxi around to the other side.
