There have been four Geneva conventions. The took place around the yeah 1900.

The treaty consists of guidelines of war such as:

1) the treatment of battlefield casualties (and casualties at sea)

2)the treatment of prisoners of war

the most well known is the second because of recent allegations that the united states is not adhering to sed guideline
