Genoa President Enrico Preziosi denies speculation of triple swoop: Serie A news
Genoa President, Enrico Preziosi, has cooled speculation linking his club with a triple swoop of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Salvatore-Sirigu-c32282.
Reports in the media have linked the trio with a move to Stadio Luigi Ferraris for some weeks now but the President has revealed that there is no such deal on the cards. Preziosi said that he does not want to undermine the talents
of any of the three stars but he is not in the market to sign any of them.
The 63-year-old added that his team is already packed with a lot of midfield players and they are not in the market for a midfielder. Genoa already have http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristobal-Jorquera-c9635 at their disposal
and the quartet are almost irreplaceable in the starting line-up.
Talking to the reporters the Marassi chief said, “I don’t know where the Cigarini story came from. We’re not doubting the player’s ability, because that can’t be questioned, but we already have a packed midfield. It’s the same
situation with regard to Napoli’s Gargano too.
“At Genoa, we are full in the middle. We already have a goalkeeper who will be our first choice next season if we can’t find a move for him. Eduardo made a few mistakes last season, but he also played very well. It was his first
year in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eduardo-c12034 situation is resolved.”
Genoa are believed to be in the market for a striker and several players are linked with the club. Manchester United striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Federico-Macheda-c13475, who spent the last season on-loan with relegated side, Sampdoria, is on their radar
and they are initially looking to work out a loan move for the Italian.
The Rossoblu are set to welcome several loan stars back to the squad after they farmed them out for development to other clubs.
Genoa had a decent 2010/11 campaign and managed to finish the season in the top half of the league table.
