The Rossoblu President confirms that a deal has been agreed with the Nerazzurri for the transfer of the striker; reveals Destro’s situation is not clear.
Genoa President Enrico Preziosi has confirmed that the Grifone have reached an agreement with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rodrigo-c31437 Palacio’s transfer, and insists that a lot of other players have also asked to leave the club.
The Argentine national was heavily linked with a move to San Siro, and now the club has confirmed that the rumours of the striker’s sale to the Nerazzurri are true.
Preziosi insisted that a number of other players in Genoa squad have asked to leave the team after a dismal season. The Rossoblu chief stated that Inter Milan have been after Palacio for a couple of years, and insisted that it
is the right time for both the clubs to make the deal.
The Grifone chief stated that while the agreement is in place, the Rossoblu may also explore the possibility of a swap deal with the Milan outfit.
While talking to Sky Sport Italia, the 64-year-old said:
“A lot of players have asked to leave. Inter have been following him for two years, so there was an opportunity for both clubs. There is an agreement and also a handshake. We could also discuss a possible swap deal, we’ll just
have to wait and see.”
Preziosi went on to state that while Palacio’s move is confirmed, Ciro Immobile will definitely come in from Pescara, as he is co-owned by the Rossoblu.
The Marassi supremo insisted that the future of Mattia Destro remains under doubt, as his co-ownership deal with Siena is still to be resolved.
“His situation is not clear. There is the co-ownership to resolve with Siena first. I paid €5m for Destro. The transfer whispers confirm his value, but we have to see what is best.” He added.
The striker scored 12 goals for Siena in the 2011-12 campaign, and has attracted a lot of interest from Juventus, Inter Milan and AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603.
Preziosi stated that he intends to make a lot of changes to the squad, as well as the directors at Genoa ahead of the new season.
