The Rossoblu President confident that Alberto Gilardino will make the difference against the Bianconeri; believes AC Milan will win the Scudetto.
Genoa President, Enrico Preziosi, has expressed the club’s desire for victory in the upcoming clash against Juventus.
The Rossoblu’s last meeting with the Bianconeri ended in a 2-2 stalemate at Juventus Stadium earlier this season. The Marassi chief believes that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-Gilardino-c4324, who is expected to return from injury, will give his side the
decisive edge against the Turin giants.
While talking to the press, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toy-c35496 tycoon said:
“The return of Gilardino will be key for us. He could give us a big helping hand against Juventus.”
The striker has been missing from injury since the last month, but will be available for selection for Juve’s visit to Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
The Italian entrepreneur admitted that the season has not been an illustrious one for his side, but insisted that the club is on the road to recovery. He emphasized, that Genoa will go into the match with nothing but victory on
their minds.
“I wouldn’t sign for a draw. We want to win. I’m disappointed with how the season has gone, but we are working on improving.”
Genoa are placed 14th in the Serie A table, with nine wins, 12 defeats and five draws this season. Juventus have played the highest draws of any team this season, but they have not suffered a single defeat. While a defeat
might seem unlikely, the Grifone certainly look determined to give the Bianconeri a run for their money.
Preziosi also predicted that the Old Lady will fall short to AC Milan in the race for Scudetto.
“Milan will win the championship.” Added the Marassi chief
The statement could very well be an attempt to demoralise the Vecchia Signora ahead of the game at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
On the other hand, Genoa midfielder, Kevin Constant, mirrored the words of his team President, stating:
“Gilardino will be important for us. He’s always dangerous in the penalty area. He attracts the attention of defenders which allows his teammates more freedom.”
Genoa will play host’s to Antonio Conte’s men on Sunday, March 11.
