Gentle Flight set to fly to victory in John Smiths Kent Derby - Heat 4 at Sittingbourne
Gentle Flight is not the one to lose his confidence just after one defeat. The punters should not judge him on his recent trouncing at Hove, where he could not recover after an early mess. As a result, S. Cahill’s trainee finished third behind Holycross
Prince at the end of last month.
Gentle Flight delivered a few brilliant performances last month, thus confidence should not be an issue for him. He just needs a clean run to blitz the opponents in the fourth heat of John Smiths Kent Derby, scheduled to be held at Sittingbourne on Sunday,
August 5th.
Hove’s audience saw him topping the table by a length’s distance on July 19th, five days after he displayed a thumping performance at Romford. Producing good results in various conditions is Gentle Flight’s trademark, and he is unlikely to face
any trouble whatsoever in qualifying to next round of the mega championship.
Other hounds in the 480 metres open race are: Rio Torino, Westmead Bertie, Lenson Ginger, Dilemmas Duke and Roseville Bullet. The £150 event will be kicked off at 20:45 GMT.
Rio Torino can move through the gears off the second bend. Luck is not on his side though, as he ran a few good races in defeat lately. Lenson Ginger has been off the track since the Wimbledon Derby. Winning a tough race straight after a long break would
be a difficult task for him and therefore, the punters should look elsewhere for the winner.
The draw should help Dilemmas Duke, but it will be an unwise move to support him after a few terrible defeats he suffered recently. Roseville Bullet does not take the eye as a winner in this line-up. Westmead Bertie stays on gamely and occasionally traps
well, but this will be a tough mission.
Rio Torino is undoubtedly a very powerful runner, who knows how to win a race of this nature. Nevertheless, it can work in the punters’ favour to support Gentle Flight, who just needs to give his one hundred percent to thrive tonight. We wish the best of
luck to all the runners.
