Genworth Financial extends its cooperation with the European Tour: signs up two new ambassadors

Global insurance giant Genworth Financial signed a sponsorship contract extension with the European Tour, renewing its support to the sport and the tour.
Genworth and European Tour have been together for a considerable period of time and the contract will see an extended association of the two entities for another four years.
Genworth is the Official Sponsor of The European Tour Statistics and will launch a newly designed integrated system for the display of the tour statistics in 2012.
Senior Vice President, Lifestyle Protection at Genworth, Peter Barrett was present at the signing ceremony along with European Tour Chief Executive George O’Grady.
He said, “Genworth is absolutely delighted to be continuing the partnership with The European Tour as Official Statistics sponsor for another four years. The European Tour brings us closer to our distribution partners and their customers through the terrific
coverage and profile that the sport has”.
The world class Insurance firm also vowed to continue its commitment with its famous Putts4Charity® programme which has amassed a whooping €865,000 during its association with the European Tour in the last six years.
The company also signed up two new ambassadors for the promotion of their brand which includes Sweden’s Peter Hanson and Spaniard Pablo Larrazábal.
O’Grady who signed on behalf of the European Tour lauded the cooperation of the two organisations.
He said, “We are very proud of the successful partnership that we have developed with Genworth over the past five years and are therefore very pleased to agree a new deal”.
Genworth will be supporting some of the high-profile events on the European Tour calendar including the Nordea Masters in Sweden, the BMW International Open in Germany and the Madrid Masters in Spain and the two Asian Tour co-sanctioned events, Volvo China
Open and the Hong Kong Open.
European Tour which saw a severe financial crunch in the past three years is finally coming out of the disappointing situation and this is the third deal the tour has managed to extend in the current year.
European Tour also saw the inauguration of the BMW Masters in China last month which testifies the popularity of the sport in the Asian continent.
