Geoff Allott resigns from high-performance panel
Former New Zealand pace bowler, Geoff Allott has quit his post of general manager of cricket for New Zealand Cricket (NZC) after the Kiwis were thrashed 4-0 by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747. Allott belonged to the team that had the responsibility of building a long-term strategy
to bring in the talent to the cricket team. Allott will serve out his last month in November.

Allott minced no words when he said that he had had to rethink his role after the disastrous tour of Bangladesh. He added, "It became evident during my work on that strategy that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 Cricket may require a different allocation of resources within high
performance in the future. This was reinforced to me during the recent review following the Bangladesh tour.”

Allott also pointed out that the New Zealand team required the best of the available resources when it came to high performance expertise. He said that based on this assumption, he would advise the New Zealand cricket board to have a high performance structure
that was very different from what it is currently. He added that it would also need it to have a “different allocation of resources.”

Allott also said, "I have effectively restructured myself out of a job, but I truly believe this to be in the best interests of cricket. This was a difficult decision for me to make because I am passionate about the game that has given me so much. After a break
with my family, I will consider several other opportunities that exist, both inside and outside of cricket."

Allott had played for New Zealand between 1996 and 2000 and was the leading wicket-taker in the 1999 World Cup. Injuries plagued his career throughout and he called it quits in 2000.

Justin Vaughan, the chief executive of New Zealand Cricket said, "Geoff has made an enormous contribution to cricket in New Zealand. He was instrumental in the negotiation of the ground-breaking eight-year agreement with the New Zealand Cricket Players' Association
and has led the development of the high performance strategy with the unique insights that a former international cricketer can bring to the process."
