Geoff Blum shines as Arizona Diamondbacks defeat Colorado Rockies 10-7 - MLB Update

Arizona Diamondbacks’ third baseman, Geoff Blum had a tremendous day with the bat as he went 3-for-5 with an average of .286 and hit three RBIs in the Diamondbacks’ 10-7 win against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, Colorado on September 5.
Justin Upton gave a pretty decent start to the Diamondbacks by hitting a solo homer (394 feet) to right-field. On the other side, Rockies also posted one run to tie the game 1-1. Dexter Fowler hit a one-run homer (399 feet) towards left-field to give the
Rockies a solid potential. In the second inning, the batters lost their momentum and were unable to yield runs.
Rockies’ starting pitcher Esmil Rogers doubled to deep left-field while Chris Iannetta and Fowler both grounded out to third base without adding even a single run at the bottom of second inning. But in the third inning, Rockies went ahead 2-1 when Mark Ellis
struck a solo homer (382 feet) towards left-field.
During the fourth inning, Diamondbacks took a 3-2 lead by posting two runs on the score-board. Paul Goldschmidt and Aaron Hill both added two consecutive runs when Blum drove a single-run shot towards centre-field. Fifth inning went without any run as the
pitchers threw accurately.
Diamondbacks’ starter, Wade Miley also shined as he pitched seven innings and surrendered two runs, six hits, three walks and two earned runs with an ERA of 3.52. He gave up two home-runs on his 91 pitches and had six strike-outs. In the sixth inning, Diamondbacks
smashed five runs to raise their lead 8-2.
Blum homered (414 feet) towards right-field while Collin Cowgill, Miley, Gerardo Parra and Justin Upton each singled to complete a five-run campaign for the Diamondbacks. During the seventh inning, Diamondbacks got a 9-2 lead when Blum scored a single run
on the grounder of Miley towards short-stop position.
Kevin Kouzmanoff singled to left-field and Carlos Gonzalez added a single run for Rockies to reduce their lead 9-3 in the eighth inning. Diamondbacks scored one run while Rockies smashed four runs in the ninth inning to cut their deficit 10-7. Aaron Hill
scored the last run for Diamondbacks when Cowgill singled off right-centre.
Conversely, Fowler homered (401 feet) to right-field and Troy Tulowitzki struck a three-run homer (422 feet) towards centre-field. Ellis and Gonzalez posted final two runs for the Rockies. However, Diamondbacks got a 1-0 lead in the three-game series at
