Geoff Lawson, the former Australian cricketer, believes that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 won an intriguing match against the hosts Australia – played
at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday, March 2 - by nine runs and with the victory have registered a place in the finals.
Lawson was pleased with way CB series has progressed so far, the former Aussie international thinks that the series has provided entertainment that is expected from such a high profile event.
He said, “I was expecting good cricket in the CB Series. Australia are always strong at home, and you had the two World Cup finalists. It was always going to come down to the last game. Sri Lanka have got revenge for their World Cup loss to India. They must
be thrilled about that.”
The 54-year-old had plenty of praise for the Lankan side. He admired their commitment to the game and the way they have bounced back after looking like a mediocre team in the first two games of the tournament.
He said, “I saw their opening two games at Perth when they started out poorly. I had a feeling they would bounce back strongly. They are a very proud side, and weren't going to just sit back and relax.”

Aussies.
Lawson believes that Lanka’s good run against the Australia has made things interesting and the finals will be worth watching. However, the 54-year-old refused to label any team as favourites to lift the trophy. He said, “They have beaten Australia three
times in a row, so the finals series could go either way.”
The first of three finals will be played at Brisbane on Sunday, March 4. The match starts at 03:20 GMT.
