http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Geoffrey-Francis-Lawson-c58815 lauds India’s pace trio – Cricket News Update
Former Australian seamer, Geoff Lawson, has lavished special praise on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Umesh-Yadav-c94625 alongside backing the trio to form India’s best pace attack of all time.
Due to a terrible performance by the batting department, India lost the first Test by a heavy margin of 122 runs. However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s pace attack, including Zaheer, Ishant and Yadav was pretty impressive throughout the contest.
After a long break due to an injury, Zaheer came back with a bang, grabbing seven wickets in the game. Ishant was remarkable with his line and length, but the pick of the bowlers was the rookie, Yadav. The young man scalped seven wickets in two innings impressing
most former cricketers, fans and analysts.
Team Blue suffered an embarrassing loss in the Melbourne Test, but Lawson feels that the Indians have a lot of positives to draw out from this loss.
"I saw Umesh bowl during the IPL for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils against us. I always wanted to see him bowl with a Kookaburra ball here in Australia -- on bouncy pitches. It's nice to see that he's figured out the exact length to bowl here. He's got raw pace and doesn't
get carried away. For a guy on his first tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, he has shown a lot of maturity. Good on him," Lawson told MiD DAY.
The 54-year-old added, "And Ishant too has really come of age. I definitely feel that this trio of Ishant, Zaheer and Umesh can potentially be one of India's best pace attacks of all time."
The Indian vice-captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Sehwag-c2739 also endorsed Lawson’s comments during the post-match media briefing. The blistering opening batsman rated the current bowling attack as India’s best ever.
The Men in Blue are now one down in the four-match series, and the next encounter is set to be played at Sydney from January 3 to January 7, 2012. Like the pitch at MCG, the Sydney track is expected to be bowling friendly as well. Therefore, the pace attack
will be India’s main strength when they take on the Kangaroos in the second battle of the tour.
