While speaking to Pakpassion, Lawson expressed that he had predicted a Pakistani win even before the series began and the Green Shirts are playing superb cricket at the moment. The former Australian fast bowler said that he always wanted Misbah to become
the captain of Pakistan because he had a mature head.
Lawson said, “I predicted that they would win the series before it started. I just think Pakistan has been playing some terrific cricket, particularly under Misbah. I have been saying for several years that he should have been the captain. They play very
consistently and he’s a great leader and tactically he is outstanding.”
The ex-Pakistani coach expressed that Misbah has a very nice rapport with the seniors as well as the junior players, and this is the reason why he has been able to get the best out of the team.
“Obviously the players have a lot of respect for him, and it seems to be that everyone is playing for the team and no one is playing for themselves, which you couldn’t say that for a lot of past Pakistan teams,” former Australian fast bowler added while
praising Misbah.
