Geoffery Boycott says sorry to Michael Yardy and wishes best for him
Geoffery Boycott, the former English batsman who is currently working with BBC as a Summariser, has posted an article on the site in a bid to apologies to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Cricket World Cup 2011 campaign and express his hearty best wishes about the player who has again opted to take rest from the international cricket following his mental depression problem.
Yardy pulled out in the midst of the World Cup marathon for his depression and flew back home to take rest and treatment. Geoffery, in an interview with BBC, lashed out on him and termed his ouster a result of his bad performances, not of mental problem.
Geoffery’s remarks stirred up a spat in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 and the English fans criticised the legend much for his immature and irresponsible statement.
However, Greoffery clarified for many times that his words had been taken out of the context.
Now, the former batting rock-star has come up with a new sympathy note for Yardy in order to compensate the emotional loss, suffered by the all-rounder due to criticism which many think to by undue and unfair.
Geoffery writes, “I am very sad to hear that Michael Yardy is taking another break from cricket to deal with his ongoing depression.”
He goes on to pen down, “It's very upsetting when somebody is not well and can't play and I really hope he gets better and gets the help he needs. It is not us cricketers who can help him. All we can do is wish him well, but he needs specialised help from people who do understand it.”
Yardy, who has been suffering from mental depression since last few months, is currently on rest at home and getting medical treatment to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ward-c96201 off his disease as soon as possible and rejoin the international cricket.
He can not afford to waste more time off-field as he already came somewhat late in the game. The 3o-year-old player made his international debut in 2006. He has played 28 ODIs and 14 T20Is so far. He still has to play his maiden Test.
