http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Geoffrey-Boycott-c58776 slams India for their poor performance in 2nd Test - Cricket News Update
Geoffrey Boycott, the former English opening batsman, outpoured immense and intense words of criticism for Team India in light of their immature and insane performance in the 2nd npower Test match against Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
He has related the Indians’ playing style with that of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 and predicted that the Poms will bag another marvellous victory in the 3rd Test, starting from August 10.
The Men in Blue were outplayed in every department by the mighty English who delivered excellent all-rounding performances and steered their side to win the high-stakes game by 319 runs on August 1.
Boycott argues that the tourists were not looking like the No 1 Test team of the world and their defensive attitude was even worse than minor teams. He views that the Indians lack fighting passion and thus cannot win the next game too as their opponents
are afloat with spirit, stamina and strength.
In his column for The Telegraph, Boycott wrote, “I don't see how India can recover and beat England. It doesn't matter who they bring in. The Indian batsmen don't like the short ball and the Indian seamers do not have the pace and intensity of England's
bowlers so come to Edgbaston all you England supporters and see Strauss's team win again.”
He further stated, “There were times at Trent Bridge when http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 looked like Bangladesh in disguise. Their ground fielding was atrocious, their bowling was wayward and lacking thought.”
However, Boycott has termed the Trent Bridge match to be an interesting one and praised the wicket for its being friendly and supportive to both the batsmen and bowlers of the two teams.
Boycott is not the only cricket expert who has criticised the Indians for their Trent Bridge demise, there are many fans and analysts who are cursing them. A day ago, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672, the former Aussies spinner, also censured the visitors for their lack of offensive
spirit and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Farokh-Maneksha-Engineer-c56812, a former Indian player, commented that even Bangladesh were better at the same venue against England.
Like all other cricket pundits, Boycott also believes that the Poms will whitewash the four-match series.
