What are and describe the 4 primary global high-pressure and low-pressure areas?

  1. High pressure areas: Death Valley, Mariana Trench, Dead Sea,  Grand Canyon bottom.

    Low Pressure areas: Mount Everest, Tibetan Plateau, Andes Mountains, Mount McKinley and the summits of the Alaska range.

    Pressure is a result of "how much" air is pressing down. Obviously at a higher elevation not as much air is available, but in basins and low elevations, more air results in greater pressure.
