  1. I was told that the last option is the best as it uses soft engineering which works with nature instead of against it, tourist/cultural/hi-tech industries will bring in a lot more money than factories and giving category 3 protection is all that's necessary as anything more than category 3 is unlikely.

  2. Okiesss let me see if I can help because Im doing exactly the same one. All ive done is summariesed the options into advantages and disadvantages so I remember them.

Option A - Too expensive and catergory 5 protection is not needed. But it does help with the connections across the city and links with Baton Rouge.

Option B - Is the one Im choosing. It uses small, inexpensive but significant improvements such as hurricane resistant dwellings. The problems are that the revetments are unattractive and will reduce tourism.

Option C- Is the second best one. It uses the smaller techniques as well as rebuilding floodwalls and levees. Problems are that if they burst they will cause even worse flooding but the plan also includes catergory 4 protection.

Option D - Is the worst out of the lot. It moves the water flow and flood risk to the Atchafalya river, which seems pointless and will ruin the Mississsippi flood protection. The plan however does make good use out of the land, as the low flood damaged areas are used as parks and swamps and high areas are used for offices and houses.

    Hope that helps  x*x
