Question:

Geography project ideas?

I need to come up with a hypothesis for me to test about my local area. I have racked my brains but I have no idea what to do.

I do not have any rivers near.

My village is in a valley.

There are some boar holes and wells.

We have a beacon on the peak of the hills.

There's lots of fields around.

I would be so so so so happy if anyone could help me with this problem as it is getting to be a real burden not having any ideas. Thanks! x*x

  1. viet nam

  2. Climate/weather patterns in your valley.

What were the bore holes for? Water supply? Effect of the water use on the water table-including pollution.

Fields: farming or ranching? Effects of that on the water supply.

  3. What's your geographical interest?

Effects of local geography on transport systems.

    Effects of transport on urbanbisation/habitation.

Change in population densities over time.

My valley conforms/does not conform to the Christaller theory.

The ice age/global warming has had an effect on my local area.

  4. 'Boreholes', by the way, unless they're full of male pigs.

There may be lots of fields around now, but was that the case say 300 years ago?  Why was the village built in the valley, rather than on the top of a hill, and what were the reasons behind a village developing inconveniently far from any river?  What was the beacon for, and was it part of some kind of more widespread network of beacons and, if so, who was using them to communicate what to whom?

Oh yeah, and what was the point of the boreholes, especially if they were involved with efforts to find male pigs?  Boar bores could be fascinating.
